Questions about Root Fertilizer
Why the growth of my aquarium plants become stagnant?
Hi,
I have planted aquarium plant for quite sometimes. There is enough lights, CO2 and I have add roots fertilizer periodically. At first the plants was growing extremely well,I can see there is also lots of snails in the tank. However the growth seems to become stagnant after a few months. All the snails are gone and some of the leaves seem to start decaying at a faster rate? Is there anyone having this experience and can give me some advice?
Many Thanks
Whale
Do you have anything that checks on the level of CO2 in the tank? Like a drop checker?
When I set up my first tank with CO2, I didn't have one, and therefor had no clue that I wasn't dosing enough of it. My plants were struggling. When I bought one (they're so cheap it's silly not to) I found out I totally wasn't adding enough of it, adjusted it, and things have been pretty good since. I have to prune my plants a ton every week because they grow so fast!
You can also over-dose CO2, which can kill fish, too. So, buy one of those things - they're so cheap, simple, easy to read
If the water in the glass bulb is blue, not enough CO2. If it's bright green, you're perfect. And if it's yellow, you have too much.
I bought my drop checker on e-bay... $5
